Supporting Local Clubs & Communities

We like to take an active part in supporting local communities through charity fundraising and supporting local events. We are particularly keen on supporting up and coming sports stars of the future! We are very proud to be the Performance Partner of the LGFA and look forward to supporting clubs and players around the country.

Performance Partner of The Ladies Gaelic Football Association

A four-year arrangement will see the LGFA introduce the ZuCar Golden Boot award – which will be presented to the leading scorer in the 2021 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships. In addition, the ZuCar Golden Glove award will acknowledge outstanding goalkeeping performances throughout the Championships. ZuCar will also become title sponsors of the LGFA’s #Gaelic4Teens Development Programme.

Charity Support

ZuCar believes that it has a responsibility to ensure that it conducts its business with the highest degree of business ethics and integrity. Its values are deeply embedded in its culture, and it strives to consistently conduct its business in an honest and transparent manner that underpins the reputation and continued success of ZuCar. Each year, we invite our employees to nominate a charity that is close to their heart or one that we may be become involved in. We support many local and diverse charities and allow our employees time off to volunteer when required. As part of the Joe Duffy Group, ZuCar are avid supporters and sponsors of Pieta House, Alone, JigSaw, St. Vincent de Paul and Breast Cancer Ireland and we increased all our company support last year, given the year of adversity many of our charity partners faced with Covid.

SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH

Sadly, suicide affects most people in our communities and our teams. Our friends and families all know of someone who has been impacted in some way by the devastation it leaves behind. We have been a long-term and proud supporter of Pieta House.

SUPPORTING THE ELDERLY

Due to the pandemic many older people are experiencing loneliness or feeling isolated in their community. There has never been a bigger demand on the fantastic work of the charity Alone to look after the precious and much loved over 70’s in our communities.

SUPPORTING THOSE IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTY

St. Vincent de Paul provides personal assistance that is non-judgemental and based on the need of the individual or family. Like many charitable organisations during the crisis, they have experienced a huge increase in demand for help and at the same time due to the economic environment, have had a decline in donations.

Supporting Business

We endeavour to use local suppliers where possible and are always conscious of our responsibility to our community. In addition to its support of Irish charities ZuCar is keenly aware of its privileged position in the community and extensively supports many local businesses, and organisations.. All the refreshments for our customer coffee areas are locally sourced including locally produced cookies and pastries.
